Desert Daze
I wanted to create a poster design series for one of the most magical music festivals, Desert Daze. I hoped to create a system through the design that would be able to extend the brand across multiple, various assets. The target audience for this project are festival goers. They are people who love to go see live music and would much rather spend money traveling to different festivals than buying material things for themselves. They are both male and female ages 18-35. These people love to go camping and have an affinity for nature and the stars. They most likely play music themselves or are very interested in it. Some people may consider them hippies because of their music taste and style.
Moodboard Discovery & Exploration
While researching this event there is really none other like it. It is set in the desert but there is also a lake in the festival area as well where attendees can cool off and swim. The scenery is so beautiful here and I was very inspired by the rustic browns and reds of the desert and mountains in combination with the teal and blue hues from the water. I wanted to take a different more modern approach to this design and hope to embody the different layers of colors and beautiful terrain within my design.

Round 1 Drafts
Option 1
For my first round drafts I decided to go with the 3d block letter design from the previous round. I think the colors are all working very well together here, however the teal block stretching from the letter A is a bit distracting. In option 1 I think the textured grain gradient background is working well as opposed to option 2 which I feel is a little too dark. I do think that there is too much text on this poster and the names of the artists become hard to read.

Reflection
Working of this project was a blast! Creating the map was one of the most challenging parts because I had to interpret their existing map in a new way. However I do feel that it was successful and that it is cohesive with the rest of the design.
