Texas Creative is a renowned portfolio program at the University of Texas designed for both graduate and undergraduate students specializing in art direction, copywriting, and design strategy.

They came to us in need of a brand refresh to better position themselves to prospective students and professionals in the advertising and design industries. The goal was to modernize their identity while celebrating the unique, hands-on experience that sets Texas Creative apart.

The inspiration for the rebrand came directly from the students who have gone through the program. Their stories highlighted the highly analog process of presenting their work—posting it on large foam boards for critique and receiving red Sharpie feedback from instructors. This tactile, personal approach in a predominantly digital world became a cornerstone of the rebrand, emphasizing the raw creativity and bold experimentation fostered by the program.

Logo Development

Three simplified letter forms (T,X, and C) layer to create an strong ovular monogram that resembles the shape of an eye. The logo embraces the eye as a signifier of creative vision, perspective, and transformation. It symbolizes the idea that perception can transform even the simplest elements into something thought-provoking—taking a concept, flipping it on its head, and seeing it in a new light.
